According to this article in the Oakland Tribune, the police officers had to accompany/guard the vulnerable and fragile seniors because they are being targeted by thugs in their neighborhoods. They were being robbed while waiting for buses. How revolutionary these thugs are to mug and rob Black seniors. Really stickin' it to the man!
When I talked to one of my co-workers about it, she started in with the predictable liberal tripe. "Oh it's so great that the police did that!" So I said, "It's monstrous that they have to do it at all!" Co-worker said, "Well people are so desperate for jobs." I said, "There are plenty of jobs out there, these kids just think they are too good for them." Co-worker said, "Yes, that's true, you are probably right."
Over in the corner one of the Chinese co-workers was listening to our conversation. Later when I went to use the phone, he asked me more about the story and wanted to know exactly where and when it happened. He just shook his head in horror and amazement.
So your point is that crime is bad?

ReplyDeleteInteresting that in your original post you said "thugs" and now you say "Blacks." Only the worst sort of person would rob an old person, obviously, which would include the corporate criminals who have been stealing pension funds on a large scale.
ReplyDeleteI am sure that only a small percentage of inner city youths, regardless of race, assault senior citizens. Those who do should be put in prison.

ReplyDeleteI lived for several years in East Palo Alto, including during the year when it had the highest per capita murder rate in the country.I have seen I am sure most of the same sort of criminal behavior that you have. I remember one time that someone drove by and shot into the house next to where I lived. I was robbed myself, on one ocassion. Yes, the perpetrators were minorities, black and hispanic. That's who lived there, for the most part. My sister would never have lived there, afraid of the "blacks." She ended up being abused by her white crack-head boyfriend.

ReplyDeleteTexas has a "right to carry" law. There was an 85-year old black man out for a walk. Two thugs walked up to him, one brandishing a knife, and demanded his money. The old man pulled out his 15 shot 9mm S&W. The thug with the knife laughed and said, "You haven't got the guts to shoot." The [police spokesman said the thug died from "stupidity."
