French commenter Anon wants the US to get out of the Middle East

Sorry, Anon we are going to stay as long as the French did. You've had your fun, now we'll have ours.

Let's see, you were in Algeria from 1830 to 1962. 132 years, that's a long, long time, 32 years longer than John McCain thinks we'll be in Iraq.

Hell, I'm for staying in the Middle East as long as the Muslims stayed in Spain, aka, a country in Europe. That would be about 500 years.

Yep, but you don't let the iraqis know, it seems they wouldn't like the idea .

  6. Je vous ai comprens (I have understood you) said DeGaulle to les pied noirs...and then he pulled the rug out from under their black feet.

Something like Bush and now McCain saying I hear you to conservatives.

    Zut Alors!

Actually, the muslims controlled Spain from AD 711 to AD 1492 when they were driven out of Granada, their last stronghold on the Iberian peninsula. So that's 781 years, instead of just a paltry 500. Sorry for being a propellerhead. I majored in Spanish. I'm also full of useless information.

  11. No Anon, times don't change, only the countries in charge change. Now is our time. As a former colony.

  13. Anon, it is not your place to lecture us on failed colonialist ventures. Maybe y'all just didn't know how to do it the right way.

  16. Yeah sure Anon and the Arabs loved you for it too! I guess they just didn't understand how wonderful you were for invading their countries! It seems as if the French started terrorism by bombing innocent Algerians.
