Sorry, I have been reading and listening rather than voicing my opinions for the last year and a half. After Obama's election, I felt it was time for the left to defend their choice, and also, I feel that it is not conservative to insult a President that has been elected by a majority of the American people. Truly, Barack Obama is the most powerful man in the world and he is the leader of the most prosperous nation to have ever existed in the history of the universe, and that means a lot to me. I believe that no matter how much I disagree with his policies, he his due a great deal of respect. Being a great believer in biological psychology, I believe that Obama's political philosophy is due to his brain chemistry and that all our political beliefs derive from biological origins. Hutus and Tutsis, farmers and cow men. Hunters and gatherers, there are basically 2 types of humans with slight overlaps. Nature has somehow given us the 2 types and so we are doomed to an almost 50/50 split in any country at any given time. The CIA has never interfered in a country where half the population was not receptive to its interference. I believe that the 2 brain types are a form of population control. I am aware of biology in every aspect of my life and behavior. As to whether
I look prettier when I am ovulating, or how my dog pretends to love me to get food out of me. This acknowledgement of biological predeterminism has freed me from a lot of stress, in that I have realised that people really can't help being the way they are. So there is no use in bemoanng the inabilility of the left or right to understand each other, because brain chemistry makes it totally impossible for us to do so. So we are doomed to engage in continual conflict for ever and ever.

Obama hisself is telling us to pray for the Haitians. I, for one, think they need help from the hand of man and need to stop relying on divine intervention, voodoo or otherwise, and will chalk them up on the same board as I do the Native-American catholics and the Irish catholics in that I think that Catholicism has been utterly ruinous for some peoples. Also, of course, the Haitians suffered under French rule, which was both brutal and disasterous. Combine Catholicism, voodoo and former French rule and you have a deadly witches brew, like New Orleans or Haiti.

Catholicism is fine for the Italians and the Spanish and the French and Southern Germans, Europeans all, Catholicism is a European religion, but is is not so good for everyone. It makes some people passive, which is what the Europeans intended when they converted Native peoples and slaves into Catholics.

In any case, if you believe in God you probably believe in Satan. Both beliefs are equally nutty. Why take either one as more serious than the other? So why does the left countenance, sans criticism, all the singing and praying to God stuff that Haitians are doing all over the news? Why aren't they as ashamed and embarrassed by it as they are by silly statements made by Pat Robertson? Because Pat is a white man and he is expected to be smarter and less ignorant than the brown, dancing, singing, island dwelling God freaks in Haiti.

I just finished watching the documentary, Jihad for Love.

Homosexuals in various Islamic countries are shown to be repeatedly rejected by Islamic clergy and society, forced to flee their home countries to avoid jail sentences, rapes and floggings, have their faces disguised to protect their families from being harmed, are told that they should be thrown off cliffs, etc, etc. One lesbian states that she wants to be flogged because she thinks it might make her not be a lesbian any more.

And yet, these poor souls still desperately hunger for the acceptance of their fellow Muslims and feel a strong and abiding spiritual connection to their God, Allah.

After reading the paper this morning and reading stories about Muslims' attacks on Iraqi Muslims, Afghan Muslims, Pakistani Muslims, Danish cartoonists, international air passengers, Egyptian Copts and Malaysian Christians, and Iranian fundamentalist Muslims calling for the executions of other "more tolerant" Muslims I cannot help but think that Muslim homosexuals are doomed to be disappointed, as Muslims are heading in the exact opposite direction of tolerance and acceptance.

My leftist lesbian neighbors' grandaughter and grandson came down from Seattle for their grandmamas' wiccan/pagan "winter solstice celebration."

I got an invite to the solstice party by way of the grandson, who at 10, still loves, adores, and wants to spend every minute with me. He is always asking me to dinner. I have been to 2 crab feeds in his honor. I am very grateful that he likes me so much, because his grandmothers are both wonderful cooks. I try not to impose on their hospitality too much, but it can be hard to resist.

The ladies are not in any way vegetarians and cooked up a delicious, great bloody roast of beef. We had hot fudge sundaes with peppermint ice cream for dessert. Yum!

The neighbors got to talking about their daughter and how she had struggled to get through nursing school and that evil Welfare does not allow for daycare or support you for going to school, yada yada.

So I said, "She did things in the wrong order. She should have gone to school first and then had the kids. That way neither the State, nor you, would have had to pay for the care of her and her children. She could have had a high paying job all along and saved the taxpayers, and you, thousands of dollars. I know a lot of Chinese-Americans and I don't know a single one who became pregnant before they finished their education. Not one. A lot of White, Mexican and Black and Native-Americans have forgotten, or disregard the rules and steps it takes to be successful. Delaying childbearing is one of them. You can't have it all ways. Something has to give. If you want to do it bass akwards, it will be that much harder."

Currently the base is occupied by residents of section 8 housing, most of whom must already be suffering from the multitudes of illnesses supposedly caused by exposure to toxic wastes.

Ex boyfriend called this week and went on a birther rant. Funny thing is, ex's father is from Malta. His father was highly educated and spoke many languages. So ex really does not have a right to insult Obama's mother, or father, and in fact, although he claims to have been born in Michigan, I have never seen ex's birth certificate and he may well have been born in Malta for all I know.

San Franciscan Muslims would have a hard time getting a minaret built because of limits on high rise buildings. Maybe not though, because the Muslims are current pets of the lefties they might have an easier time getting a minaret approved than others would a church or synagogue or a Target store.

The left in Europe does not care one bit that their constituents are nationalistic, right-wing, religious fanatics, as long as those fanatics have brown or black skin. The problem is that the immigrants are not nationalistic about Europe, but about their original countries of origin or their parents' countries of origin. According to the leftists' playbook, the only people on the planet who are not allowed to feel nationalistic are white people.

The fact is that most immigrants to Europe are themselves far more nationalistic than any but the most fascist of Europeans are. The majority of immigrants from Arab countries are very nationalistic indeed. The very desire to build minarets in a foreign country is nationalistic, oh wait, when you force your culture on to another culture, it is considered imperialistic, not nationalistic.

I was watching a Scottish movie (Red Road) a few weeks ago, and was disturbed by the sound of a muezzin's call to prayer that I kept hearing in the background of the scenes shot in inner city Glasgow. Don't get me wrong, I love the sound of a muezzin, but I don't want to hear one in Scotland.

Exactly sixty years ago, in the early summer of 1937, Michiganians took great pride in the outcome of a fight in Chicago. Joe Louis, the "Brown Bomber from Detroit," captured the heavyweight boxing crown by knocking out James Braddock in eight rounds.

Louis had quick reflexes and a strong punch. Some experts think he was the best heavyweight ever. In the twelve years after he beat the stuffing out of Braddock, Louis defeated 24 challengers, 22 by knockout. His hardest fight, however, was not with Max Schmeling or Rocky Marciano, but with the Internal Revenue Service.

In 1914, the year Joe Louis was born, the income tax had only been in place one year. The top rate was a mere 7 percent, and a high exemption kept most Americans off the tax rolls altogether. Even by 1931, the year Joe Louis began boxing seriously, the income tax was so minimal that only 2 percent of Americans even qualified to pay it.

When he earned over $371,000 in his first two years as a professional boxer, Louis immediately helped family and friends all over the country. For example, he voluntarily paid back to the government welfare payments his stepfather had received during the Great Depression. Later, he supplied a house for an elderly Indian on property he owned. He also bought needed uniforms for a group of black army officers.

Louis wanted private citizens to solve many of the problems that Americans were increasingly turning to government to solve. He opposed many of President Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal programs and campaigned for Republican candidate Wendell Willkie for president in 1940. Before the election, Louis sent Willkie this telegram: "Win by a knockout. It will mean freedom from the WPA and for American Negro rights." Meanwhile, tax rates from the ever growing government that Louis opposed were heading toward the stratosphere.

One month after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the generous Louis gave his entire $65,200 fee (about $700,000 in today’s money) from a fight to the Naval Relief Fund. Less than three months later, he gave his $45,882 purse from another fight (about $500,000 today) to the Army Relief Fund. Ever the patriot, he halted his lucrative boxing career and enlisted as a private, earning only $21 a month.

When the war ended, Louis hoped to retire from boxing with savings in the bank and dignity from his career. He lost both. What he overlooked was the enlarged role of government and the taxes he owed to help keep it growing. Under President Roosevelt, the tax base had expanded to where most American families (not the mere 2 percent of a few years before) had to pay income taxes. Worse for Joe Louis was the steep tax levied on high incomes. From 1931, his first year in boxing, to 1937, when he knocked out Braddock, the top marginal tax rate had soared from 24 to 79 percent. Louis found himself owing the government most of his purse money from each of his fights.

During the 1940s, the top marginal rate was hiked to 90 percent, and Joe Louis found himself over $500,000 in debt to the IRS in back taxes. Roosevelt’s new tax laws were complicated and Louis, unlike later successful athletes, had no tax shelters, municipal bonds, or clever accountants. The IRS would not let him deduct the two fight purses he had donated to the army and navy. He couldn’t even deduct $3,000 worth of tickets that he had bought for soldiers to one of those fights. What’s more, the interest payments were compounded each year, ballooning his debt into seven figures during the 1950s.

Louis retired in 1949, undefeated as a champion, but now he had to fight again. "I had to keep working to pay taxes," Louis said, "but the more I worked, the less I had."

In 1950, Louis "announced that I’d decided to come out of retirement and challenge Ezzard Charles for the championship. The reason—taxes." Louis lost the match in a 15-round decision. After the fight, when Louis called his mother, she "begged me to stop now, but she couldn’t understand how much money I owed . . . . The government wanted their money and I had to try to get it to them."

The next year, for a $300,000 purse, the 37-year-old Louis fought Rocky Marciano, but was knocked out in the eighth round. Technically, he owed the whole purse to the IRS, but since he had to pay a 90 percent tax rate on most of his earnings, plus back interest from previous years, he still could not whittle down his debt. Louis’s boxing career was over, and he would never be able to earn the money to satisfy the tax collectors. He died in debt, a broken man. Were he with us today, he might well be one of America’s foremost champions of replacing the current system with a low, flat tax.

Joe Louis would want to be remembered as a champion, a patriot, and a role model for children. He admitted that he overlooked the new tax laws, that he trusted too many friends, and that he spent money unwisely. As we think about his life, we should remember Joe Louis as an expert in the use of physical force to knock out his boxing adversaries, but as a novice when government used political force to knock him out.

When I saw the news story about the Arizona based Cheesecake Factory Inc restaurant paying out $350,000 to employees over male on male sexual harassment I immediately knew the race of the perpetrators involved.

When I was 25 I dated a guy who was a bartender at a Mexican Restaurant in Oakland called, Senor Nero's. He hated his job because he said that the older Mexican Guys, the owner and the ones who were the cooks, constantly sexually terrorized the younger male waiters. My boyfriend could not stand watching it and finally quit.

Later on I dated a Mexican waiter, who worked at a restaurant chain called, El Torito's. I remembered what my ex had said and asked him if he experienced the same thing.

"Every day," he replied. "My ass is always sore from them grabbing it and pinching it every time I walk by. They tell me to suck them. They tell me they are going to fuck me."

Yes, Virginia, the colleges do prefer knowledgeable students who are already fluent in trigonometry and calculus, who have a reasonably rich lexicon and who can convey their thoughts in the form of an essay. Otherwise, the students will have to spend two out of four college years taking remedial classes. Our society does not need engineers who study engineering subjects proper for only the two remaining years.

The same applies to any field of endeavor: baseball, skating, saxophone playing or journalism. A baseball coach might feel sorry for an unskillful candidate who just has not had a chance to play the game with his parents. But usually a coach simply cannot afford to take such candidates in the hope that they might catch up later.

Whether you like it or not, we live in a competitive society that encourages excellence. That's why we have a football Hall of Fame, Nobel Prizes and Oscars. Do some kids have an unfair advantage over others because their parents are able and willing to tutor them or hire professional tutors? You bet they do, and the difference is obvious by the age of 5. A few months ago I got on the bus and as I passed this young Asian kid I accidently (on purpose) hit him in the forehead with my ringed finger. He grabbed his head and started crying and moaning like a European soccer player does after he's been fouled.

He kept turning to look at me, so she said, "Why you keep on looking at that lady?"

I just kept making eye contact. Mean mugging him right back. I figured that if he did attack me, he was already so wounded and dazed from my powerful first blow that I could just finish off his little weak ass in a jiffy.

My neighbor's grandson begged me to go with him and his grammies to put the triangle flag up on twin peaks to celebrate gay pride weekend. He asked and asked and he finally wore me down. So I went and had a great time. Far left San Francisco Chronicle columnist Jon Carroll went way out on Hitler's limb in his most recent column. In it he makes many controversial statements, but he indirectly defends a group of New Orleans medical staff who may have chosen to euthanize patients after hurricane Katrina.

"There was an additional problem - some of the remaining critically ill patients were obese, sometimes morbidly so. Evacuation involved maneuvering a patient down six flights of stairs, through a hole that had been hastily cut through a wall to the parking garage, then up two flights of very steep metal steps to the helipad. Some doctors were not even sure it could be done.

Here's another uncomfortable fact: Doctors often do not much care for people who do not take care of themselves. They understand, of course, but 30 years of unheeded advice takes its toll on the empathy impulses. How could it not? There was no suggestion in the article that this was a factor in any of the decisions; this is merely speculation on my part. Still.

The doctors were already administering morphine to manage pain and relieve the patients' anxiety. At a certain point, it seems pretty clear, a decision was made to give certain patients an increased dose of morphine plus a benzodiazepine sedative. Pou denies that euthanasia was her goal; she was just trying to get them through what was sure to be "another night of hell."

If everyone rushes the gates at once without the infrastructure to support them, think on how little time doctors will have to spend with patients.

We are already robbing the third world of many of their doctors and nurses.

During the free health care give away staged recently, I heard interviews with college students who had severe dental problems. Why don't all American colleges have doctors and dentists on staff? Surely, liberal college professors would be willing to pay a personal tax or part of their salaries in order that their students may enjoy good health.

San Francisco and illegal immigrant gangs

Recently an illegal immigrant who murdered an Italian-American father and his two sons was found to have been arrested for assault and released on the streets of San Francisco instead of being jailed and deported. A huge scandal ensued whereupon the San Francisco public showed its displeasure at the sanctuary policy being followed by the city of San Francisco.

Young, illegal, Latino immigrant members of violent gangs who are arrested for violent gang and drug related crimes and convicted of felonies are not reported to immigration authorities and some of them are even receiving "job training."

The left-wing government of San Francisco is now trying to strengthen the policy even further.

The shibboleth they always bring up is that immigrants do not co-operate with or call police to report crimes because "they are afraid of being deported."

This is one of the biggest lies of all time. Immigrants, both legal and illegal are more terrified of gang members than anyone else. There is a story in the San Francicsco chronicle today about how the SFPD's stepped up gang enforcement efforts have made certain areas of San Francisco less frightening and more business friendly.

I know a guy who has been a welder at the refinery and is now loading up trucks with materials they can no longer use for the expansion of the refinery. He is working 14 hours a day and will be laid off as soon as they clear the building materials out.

The crazy thing is. All the crude that Chevron was going to refine here in California will still be refined elsewhere. Any oil that is remaining on this planet will be recovered and utilized for energy.

The middle and high school kids were coming home from school. The kids were enraged that we had the nerve to get on the bus and were yelling at us not to get on. One of the girls, all pretty in pink, had a psychotic look on her face and screamed in an elderly Chinese woman's face, "Are you fucking retarded? Get off the bus bitch!"

The bus driver, an Asian man, told us that the kids try to control who gets on and off the buses.

When the kids got off they pushed through us, deliberately going through the front doors, screaming "Move bitch, move," in our faces.

I was shaking my head, saying out loud, "Animals."

My ex boyfriend told me that when he was growing up in Michigan he, his mother and sister went camping at a campground. One day, buses pulled up and out came kids from inner city Detroit, screaming running around and generally acting like wild animals. "We were terrified," he said. His mother got them in the car as fast as she could and took off.

When inner city kids can learn to behave in their own city pools then maybe they will be invited to play in other peoples' pools. Until then, if you see a group of them coming, head them off or get your kids out of the pool as fast as you can.

The Oakland school superindendant was all over the radio saying how happy he is that Oakland schools have been released from state receivership and are back under the pathetic management of Oakland city government.

"You should do anything you can to avoid being taken over by the county, state or federal government," he yelped. Boo hoo.

Funny how the union lefties can't stand being doused in the same sauce they dish out all over everyone else.

The Hurt Locker

I saw "The Hurt Locker" today. I am not going to spoil it for you all, but the movie gives the correct impression that war can be both painfully tedious (between fire fights) and gloriously exciting (during fire fights.) I can't attest to the reality of the plot, some of the bomb defusing material and derring do seems a bit far fetched, but the movie is on the whole, a great one.

Also, too much is made of the fact that war is a kind of "addiction" for some men. To be addictive, something has to give you pleasure in the first place. So much pleasure that you want to do it over and over again. There is a reason that men continually go to war and that is because many of them like it.

The main character in Hurt Locker loves his job as a bomb defuser. This movie is not of the "Stop Loss" variety where guys are just wetting their pants thinking about returning to battle. Lefties in the audience (I saw it in San Francisco) had little to laugh about in this movie except for a scene where Iraq boys run alongside a moving American Humvee and throw rocks at it, and another in which David Morse plays a moronic Colonel. The audience was almost entirely silent except for these scenes, both of which they snickered at.

I, and the Vietnam vet next to me, (who was there with his son) laughed a lot more than anyone else. The movie was filmed in Jordan and there were a few scenes that included skinny and crippled cats, which, of course caused some female members of the audience to groan in sympathy. The cats were real, and the many dead humans in the movie merely actors, so I guess the cats rightly elicited more pity.

The tension level is very high and I got queasy a few times during the film. It is like the worst/best roller coaster ride you have ever ridden. I really wanted to get right back in line and see it again.

Stop protesting wars and start protesting the use of motorcycles. Every morning on the traffic report there are motorcyclists down on every freeway here in the bay area. Thousands more men are being killed while riding motorcycles than are being killed in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Instead of "No More Nukes" howzabouts "No More Bikes."

Remember when Miss C stated that Oakland was as bad as Iraq and for doing so she was greeted with ridicule by lefties?

Here is an article from the San Francisco Chronicle wherein Afghan, Burmese and Iraqi immigrants, sponsored by Arco and brought to Oakland to work in gas stations in bad neighborhoods under the pretense of getting them out of dangerous war zones, state that they just have jumped from the fat into the fire and that Oakland is every bit as dangerous and as much of a war zone as Iraq, Burma and Afghanistan.
