Dear Miss C., I lament deeply that your lack of information about this stuff, or the bad state of the information that you have got, has lead you to launch a scream so coarse and little adequate. I suspect your message responds to Holly Father’s supposed apologize, apologize that actually has never existed. I suggest that you read his textual words rather than let other people interpret them and think by you. That conduct is more typical of fanatic Muslims and radical leftists, and it doesn’t lead to a good port.
J.Doe, I know that you are a Catholic so you are naturally upset by my accusation. I am sorry to offend you as I consider you a friend, but I retain my right as a free citizen with freedom of speech. I do not agree with you. The Pope, as a man living in a country that basically put Orianna Fallaci on trial for admitting basic truths about the followers of islam, is giving up his virtue and manhood to placate animals. I will not forgive him for his apology.
Nobody has denied you’re right to free speech. But, since I myself have the same right, I feel free to question you in the same way you question the Pope. Anyway, you should not sorry for me. My trust in Benedict XVI is quite wide and, as you can imagine, I agree with him (indeed, you agree with him in spite of your last [and pretty big] confusion).
The Pope is the religious and “political” leader of the Vatican, a State inside Italy. Although they maintain close relations (Spain and Andorra are other good example), they have their own politics and identities. It’s obvious that the Pope doesn’t live in Italy, but in the State of Vatican City. So if you’re referring to the supposed possibility of the Pope being brought to a jail, lady, be serious. Right, a lot of Italians would have desired see her in the jail, but... what about your compatriots? Did all of them love Fallaci?
By the way, she spoke very positively about the Pope, and she never hidden his respect for the Catholic leader.
[The Pope] is giving up his virtue and manhood to placate animals. I will not forgive him for his apology.
Ok, I would like to see the proof. Not all of them, only one, please. Give me the text where he apologized. I’m sure that, if it exists, a copy must be exist in Internet. Look it and give me it. I suspect that you will not find anything remotely similar to that.
The statement the vatican released was that the Pope did not intend to offend Muslim "sensibilities" This, to me, is tantamount to an apology. The Pope should not be in the business of caring about the delicate sensibilities of crazed Muslims, the pope is a Catholic and should only be concerned with the opinions of Catholics. He should beef up his bodyguard and ignore the islamists entirely.
Very interesting contradiction, Miss C: I am sorry to offend you as I consider you a friend, but I retain my right as a free citizen with freedom of speech. Is that an apology? You lament to offend me, but I doubt you apologize. You lament my reaction, the pain I could suffer, nothing more. You insist in your right to speak freely, and you insist in your ideas. You have done what the Pope did before.
This, to me, is tantamount to an apology. An equivalent is not the same thing that the original object. In this case, indeed, as you say, it is just an interpretation (“this, to me”). So you don’t give me an objective statement, but just a... well... you know... I think that... I could be wrong, of course... it’s hard, sometimes we are forced to make interpretations...
The Pope should not be in the business of caring about the delicate sensibilities of crazed Muslims, the pope is a Catholic and should only be concerned with the opinions of Catholics. Why? If every human is God’s creature, even the atheists, and if all of we must coexist in the same planet, and if Muslims are a real threat not just for the Muslims, but for the whole world, why should the Pope be concerned just with the opinions of Catholics, why should he be insensible to the rest of people who live on Earth?

I think this Pontiff just cleverly tested the water. He found out it is HOT just as he thouht!
I look for much more to come from the pope ... unless he is assasinated.
Come on, Jack, at this time all of us know how hot is the water!!! There is no need of testing anything. He has taken a step, which is his duty.
