Percentage of US population who believe that Scooter Libby personally "outed" Valerie Plame
versus percentage of US population who believe Saddam Hussein was personally responsible for 9/11 attacks.
I'd say the odds are in the favor of the Libby accusers. I have actually heard journalists on PBS say, incorrectly, that Libby was convicted of outing Plame.
Remember this lefties, Valerie Plame's job consisted of convincing people in countries other than ours to break the laws of those countries and engage in traitorous and illegal acts against the governments and people of those countries.
I guess she gets a pass from the left because, and strictly because, her husband was against the invasion of Iraq. As long as you appear on the surface to toe the party line, you're A-ok.

This is so inside the beltway, Miss C. One more piece of evidence for my theory that the struggle for power is fought out between two sets of elites. The People - us - merely look on.
You know, I basically agree with your description of Valerie Plame's job. Which means that she was a covert agent, a point most rightwingers still falsely deny. True, at the time she was outed she was serving in the U.S., although still making trips overseas, but her status was still protected. Obviously this was because is her cover was blown the operations she managed, and her agents and assets overseas, would be compromised and endangered.
(By the way, we now know that her word involved WMDs and and the nuclear black market.)
If the Plame affair had happened under Clinton the Right would have screamed treason, and they would have been right.
Libby was covering, in my opinion, for Dick Cheney. Rightists like to call "liberals" traitors, but perhaps the real traitors are serving in the government.
