My take on the protest in Jena, Louisiana
I think that hanging nooses in a tree is attempted murder. What do White people hang nooses in trees for, if not to lynch Blacks with?
Lynching symbolism is a terrifying and brutal and hateful thing. No White person in Oakland, who was not suicidal, and had control of all his faculties, would ever think to do such a stupid thing. If I did, I would expect to have my head stomped in. The Blacks in Jena were severely provoked is all.

"There was no “schoolyard fight” as a result of nooses being hung on a whites-only tree.
Justin Barker, the white victim, was cold-cocked from behind, knocked unconscious and stomped by six black athletes. Barker, luckily, sustained no life-threatening injuries and was released from the hospital three hours after the attack.
A black U.S. attorney, Don Washington, investigated the “Jena Six” case and concluded that the attack on Barker had absolutely nothing to do with the noose-hanging incident three months before. The nooses and two off-campus incidents were tied to Barker’s assault by people wanting to gain sympathy for the “Jena Six” in reaction to Walters’ extreme charges of attempted murder."

I did not, and Ive never been to the Grand Canyon either but that doesnt mean I cant tell you there is big hole in the ground in Colorado.
As bad as the noose thing was it doesnt justify a six on one beatdown and certainly doesnt merit the public outcry in defense of thugs.
My high school was vandalized after a big game where we got thrashed by a predominantly black school. We went to fight them that night, that night... we didnt wait three months.
Once again, fuck the Jena Six.

The Grand Canyon is not in Colorado, dude. It's in Arizona, and it's not a hole, it is rugged steep mountain terrain.
Don't you understand? It doesn't matter what blacks do. Beatings. Rape. Murder. It's pay back. That makes it AOK.

\'Jena Six\' defendant\'s criminal history comes to light; bond denied
Regarding the “Jena Six”, the assault against Justin Barker occurred three months after the noose incident.
There is no justification for anyone putting up a noose which is the same as cross burning on someone's property as a threat, but the assault was said to occur, three months after the noose incident, because Barker mocked one of the "Six" for being beat up by a white guy a few days before. Barker denies mocking him, but even if he did, there is no justification under those conditions for six people assaulting one.
The only member of the "Jena Six" that has been convicted, Mychal Bell, “was put on probation for a battery that occurred December 25, 2005 and he was subsequently convicted of another battery charge and two charges of criminal damage to property while still on probation.” That is two prior battery convictions. Four of the six were already seventeen years old and would already be tried as adults. If two prior convictions have not modified Bell's behavior, what will? College football?
I am in favor of sending Bell to California with $100,000 a year provided by the state of Louisiana and payments to continue unless Bell is arrested again. I am sure that he would cause no trouble there and would flourish in that environment.
By the way, out of 150 people called for jury duty for Bell’s trial, including blacks, only 50 reported. All of them were white. The names for jury duty in Louisiana are selected at random from the voter registration rolls.
Here too, there were almost no Blacks in our jury pool.
As for the conviction of Bell, I do not argue it, but the White kids are just as responsible. Trashy white kids are just as nasty as trashy Black kids. Mocking a group of Blacks is proof that you are too stupid to live.
