Garbage workers in Oakland suck!

We have had a garbage workers lockout at the company responsible for waste management in Oakland. The waste disposal company is trying to negotiate with the union over the safety records of it's 421 East Bay drivers, who have the worst safety records of the company's 22,500 drivers. 70 drivers acount for 29% of the company's repeat offenders. Some of the drivers cut the wires to the back up beepers because it gives them a headache. One guy had 18 safety violations including hitting 2 freeway overpasses and they can't get rid of him. 2 non employees have been killed by drivers.

Yet the media never mentions this when reporting on the lockout and the subsequent hiring of substitute drivers during the lockout. All we hear about is the garbage pile up and the angry customers.
