Turns out Senator Don Perata's carjacker was the very same guy who shot and paralyzed the 11 year old piano student!
Perata's spokeswoman was making excuses for the guy at the time of the carjacking, "Oh, poor, poor Black people have to carjack White people for their rims around the holidays, boo hoo, poor them. I feeel soooooo sorry for them. Perata's White privilege made them do it! He shouldn't have been driving a car with nice rims, only Black people can have nice rims, everybody knows that!"
When you make excuses for violent criminals 11 year olds get shot and turned into paraplegics.

This just gets sadder and sadder.
I particularly like Perata's comment at the time, "I've been doing gun control for 20 years", while carrying a gun himself.
Poor little boy. That slug will be out before the child ever walks, that's for sure.
