Global warming media hype
It's strange to me that liberals are only too willing to complain of hype when it comes to the incessant "news" stories about Paris Hilton and Lindsey Lohan but never ever complain of hype on the part of the media when it comes to the gloom and doom global warming stories so prevalent in the news.
My grandma was in Texas during the 1989, Loma Prieta earthquake and she said that watching the news gave her the impression that California had been completely destroyed.

Gary, my dear, lest you ferget, scientists developed the atom bomb, put acid in sweet lil' bunnies, and Jews eyes for Hitler, etc, etc. They are in it for the money, hence the disaster scenario and the doomsday predictions. heterosexual AID's prophecies turned out to be garbage and so it's off with the old and on with the new. The left has a new God and it is science. Liberals are just so fucking bored with their useless little lives that they have to invent danger to liven things up a bit.
